How To Volunteer at Ohio’s Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties

We are excited that you have decided to volunteer and serve our patients and families. The Volunteer Services Department is available to assist you in the five-step process.

  • Download the Volunteer Application to your computer and print.

  • E-mail or give the printed Volunteer Reference form to three people NOT related to you and have them complete the reference within one week of the date you gave it to them.
  • SIGNATURE MUST BE INCLUDED

Fill out both the Volunteer Application and the Volunteer Reference form COMPLETELY and send them to:

The Volunteer Services Department should be able to complete the volunteer application process within 10 days, provided that it has all of the materials.

There shall be no discrimination against an otherwise qualified adult volunteer by reason of disability, age, race, color, ethnicity, sex, creed, national origin, citizenship, or socioeconomic status.

Step 3 – Complete the Orientation and/or Courses for Specific Positions

View the schedule of classes, which are held twice a month in two locations.

Step 4 – Complete requirements of TB testing and criminal background check.
TB testing will begin at Orientation.

Step 5 – Choose the volunteer position(s) in which you wish to serve and attend any additional training.

How are Volunteers Trained?

After submitting a volunteer application and three references, volunteers need to register for a three-hour Orientation. For direct patient care, another course is required — Caring Angels — 4 hours. See Growing Volunteers Class Opportunities.
